Amna Nisar Abbasi currently holds the position of Research Officer and serves as the head of the Iran Program at the Institute
of Regional Studies. Her primary research areas Includes Foreign Policy and Governance. Concurrently, she is pursuing a Doctoral
Program in Political Science with a specialization in Comparative Politics from institutions in Sweden and Portugal.
Her professional background features substantial involvement in both governmental and non-governmental sectors. She has worked
with esteemed organizations including DEPO Islamabad, Human Shield, Amnesty International Växjö Sweden, and OXFAM GB Islamabad
Pakistan. Her comprehensive approach involves a blend of research paper, research essays, op-ed articles, and the provision of
analytical inputs on Iranian dynamics. Her research contributions have garnered recognition in International and National journals,
being cited and indexed across global and domestic platforms.
She is a regular contributor to prominent National and International newspapers and magazines, including Political Reflection,
Iranian Council for Defending the Truth, Mélange, South Asia, Pakistan Today, Pakistan Observer, and Frontier Post. Beyond her
research endeavors, she offers analytical insights and policy recommendations concerning Iran to pertinent stakeholders.
Furthermore, she takes an active role in facilitating informed dialogues at the Institute of Regional Studies, engaging
with National and International think tanks, as well as media outlets.
